This is an exciting time for us.
In 2006, Prince William Dance Academy moved to a very special location: a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century church in historic Nokesville.
The building features exquisite cathedral windows that flood the dance studios with natural light, gleaming hardwood floors, and elegant architectural details such as the belfry, that make the building special and unique.
The town of Nokesville was established in 1865.
It prospered as a rural village with dozen of homes, a general store, public school, bank, The Hebron Seminary and a train depot.
Today it retains a sense of nostalgia and country charm.
Originally named St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, the structure was consumed by fire and was rebuilt as an exact replica of the first.
The church changed hands several times throughout the years, serving congregations from several denominations.
Prince William Dance Academy bought the former St. Anne’s Episcopal Chapel in 2006 and began a careful restoration.
Our work is now complete and we welcome you to visit our new home.
"The church's interior underwent a remarkable renovation...
The result is a moving space, which has light pouring into two massive studios from gothic style windows saved from the original structure.
Gleaming hardwoods, also original, are perfect for tap shoes.
Ballet barres line the walls of studios where dancers can practice as the light filters through the church’s stained glass window.
Raised eight feet from its original position, it was lovingly cared for and salvaged."
